at KleinLife: Northeast Philadelphia
Our newly started Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Program (STEM) is being expanded to accommodate more students. New students will be able to join the program as of January 6.
Classes will run at the center on Monday, Wednesday and Friday 4:00-6:00pm through the first week in June.
The new educational opportunity will initially focus heavily on mathematics and has been meticulously designed to teach students how to think and to help prepare them for their advanced placement courses at the high school level. The STEM classes are being instructed by Chase Middleman, who has a master’s degree in mathematics from SUNY Stony Brook. He is being assisted by John Hosgood, a teaching assistant.
In order to qualify for the program, parents must go through an interview with KleinLife STEM Program director Michael Kagan Ph.D. and there is a short qualifying written exam for interested students. Fun Fact: Kagan is currently an associate professor of physics at Penn State Abington.
Cost $30 per session for private students. For those students receiving CCIS supplements, the program is free. Anyone interested in joining the STEM program may contact KleinLife at 215-698-7300 x148 or email kleinlife.stem@gmail.com. Space is limited.
