“Despite the fact that most of our seniors will spend this Passover without their close families…we really want to make it an enjoyable experience for them.”

This past Thursday, KleinLife started preparations for Passover by putting together over 650 specialty holiday food boxes for Jewish seniors. Packed with traditional specialties like matzah, gefilte fish and cold beet borscht along with the nutritious staples our seniors have come to rely on, KleinLife’s boxes aim to lend a bit of stability and holiday joy in an uncertain time. Seniors will receive their food boxes on their doorsteps this Tuesday.

KleinLife staff, including CEO Andre Krug, have had to get creative in recent weeks to ensure that every member continues to feel the benefits of the KleinLife community, even at a distance. “Despite the fact that most of our seniors will spend this Passover without their close families,” he said, “we really want to make it an enjoyable experience for them.”

Passover celebrates the passage from a place of trauma and sorrow, to one of freedom. So, too, do we hope that our community will survive this pandemic stronger and more connected. We wish you a chag sameach, and hope that you are surrounded this year, albeit by phone or videoconferencing software, by family and friends.

* * * As you know, we are constantly looking for additional contributions in order to continue to provide the emergency meals. Please help us make this possible!!! As always, you can DONATE via our website.

Special thanks to our incredible staff, Jewish Federation, Share Food Program, and other supporters.
