In Memoriam Manya Frydman Perel

KleinLife is mourning the passing of one of its dearest members, Manya Frydman Perel.

KleinLife is mourning the passing of one of its dearest members, Manya Frydman Perel. A force to reckon with, Manya was born into a Jewish family in Poland in 1924 and together with her family was deported in 1941. She was a survivor of 8 camps, including Ravensbrück, Plaszow, Rechlin, Gundelsdorf, and Auschwitz. In 1945, she escaped from a death march when the camps were liberated by Russian soldiers.

Manya dedicated her life to educating many generations about the Holocaust. Her message was always about resilience and her hope for a more tolerant future. Manya joined the KleinLife community at its inception in 1975 and was a permanent fixture at our events and programs for decades. She was often seen dancing at our Active Adult Life holiday parties or speaking at our Holocaust education events. She has touched many lives in our community and we are especially grateful for her time spent speaking with students through the Holocaust Awareness Museum and Education Center.

She is survived by her children and grandchildren who have promised to carry her legacy. May Manya’s memory be a blessing and inspiration to all of us.
