The Great American Folk Music Revival of the 1960’s: The 1960’s ushered in a powerful relationship between
music and social issues – civil rights, Vietnam, hippies, British Invasion, JFK’s assassination, Martin Luther King, the Cuban Missile Crisis, Nuclear Armaments, the Cold War and other issues were reflected in the music of the decade. Some of the most powerful voices were Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Pete Seeger, Phil Ochs, Harry Chapin and many more. Explore how this music rose to its height during the tumultuous 1960’s. This also concludes with a concert of duets.
